Le Petit Nicolas

“Le Petit Nicolas”, the French movie Klaus had the honor to write the music for, not only received a César nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay this year, but also was France’s top box-office hit in 2009. It hit the 2-million-viewer mark in its 3rd week, and had 6 million entries total.

Everyone in France knows "Le Petit Nicolas", the 9-year-old school boy of the nostalgic France of the 50s. The movie is a heart-warming cheerful story about his humorous adventures.

This might be the most unconventional score Klaus has written so far, with its emotional, fun, sincere and intimate, but light feel. Besides the orchestra Klaus used many soloists including acoustic guitar, mandolin, acoustic bass, drums, string quartet, accordion and jazz clarinet.

Klaus' personal discovery though was Geert Chatrou, the World Champion in whistling. Yes, that exists, and Klaus always mentions that "once you hear him, you will never want to whistle again under the shower".

 Klaus and our whole team wish Laurent Tirard and Grégoire Vigneron good luck at the César Awards on February 27!

Congrats! I saw the movie a while ago and it was pretty good! I especially liked the intro part.

Hi!  my name is Martin, iam  22 years old from germany and student of computer engineering (1,5 yers remaining). I take (private organized) lessons in my free-time in the basics of composing and going to do a semester abroad in mexico. Before … or after this time … its would be GREAT if you give me the chance to do an internalship (without payment or something like that) for a few weeks or longer. I havent studied music at university or something like that and iam a beginner but … I do really want to become to know more of hollywood-composing.

I dont just want to "take" so i could offer you to create a website for free (even if i cant get in contact with you in real life)

I think there a lot of people which want to do this but I hope to receive an answer from you :) If you dont offer internships … maybe you could give me some advice
