Video Specs
Here are the specs for Klaus' working picture outputs for the cutting room.
Video
Export each reel as Quicktime Movie, Same as Source (or Apple ProRes 422 proxy-720p, if you are working with ProRes):
- 24 fps
- Timecode burn-in optional
- Version number in file name, or burned in (visible)
- 2 pop and tail pop
- File Name: "Reel# Version Date '.mov'" - example: R1 v4 0912.mov
Audio
Three (3) separate audio files per reel:

Enable only Dialog and FX tracks:
- Export As: Audio, Mono
- Sample Rate: Project Rate
- Audio Format: WAV
- 2 pop and tail pop
- File Name: "Reel# Version Date Dx.wav'" - example: R1 v4 0912 Dx.wav

Enable only Temp Music:
- Same as above
- File Name: "Reel# Version Date Mx.wav'"- example: R1 v4 0912 Mx.wav

Enable only Source Music (if present):
- Same as above
- File Name: "Reel# Version Date Source.wav'"- example: R1 v4 0912 Source.wav
Sound Editors
6-channel sound FX are welcome - please deliver as split or interleaved files according to the audio specs above. You're welcome to download our synth demos to work against. We post them throughout the writing process to he FTP below.
For all files
File start = Picture start (i.e. 8 s before program start) TC: Full Hour = Reel# (if burned in) This will deliver a clean 24P picture and audio, Dx/FX and Mx separate, as described in the "Avid FilmComposer IO Guide" attached as PDF below, pg. 411.
